Method for Accessing the Meeting and Providing Public Comment (Instrucciones en Español Abajo)

There are three ways members of the public may access this Committee Meeting: (1) online, (2) by telephone by calling 888-475-4499 (Toll Free)   and entering the Meeting ID, or (3) in person.  Please note that due to the continued public health risks associated with COVID-19, the Board Room will be operating at reduced capacity.

The Board of Education encourages public comment.  Any individual wishing to address the Board must register to speak using the Speaker Sign Up website: https://boardmeeting.lausd.net/speakers, and indicate whether comments will be provided over the phone or in person.  Registration will open 24 hours before the meeting.

  • Committee Meetings:  A maximum of 15 speakers may sign up for general Public Comment

Speakers who do not register online to provide comments may use the following alternative methods to provide comments to Board Members:

  • Email all Board Members at [email protected];
  • Mail comments via US Mail to 333 S. Beaudry Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90017; and
  • Leave a voicemail message at (213) 443-4472, or fax (213) 241-8953. Communications received by 5 p.m. the day before the meeting will be distributed to all Board Members.

Speakers registered to provide public comments over the phone need to follow these instructions:

  1. Call 888-475-4499 (Toll Free)   and enter Meeting ID at the beginning of the meeting.
  2. Press #, and then # again when prompted for the Participant ID.
  3. Remain on hold until it is your turn to speak. You will be able to hear the meeting over the phone while you are on hold, or you can watch the meeting on the live video stream until your item comes before the Board.
  4. Callers will be identified based on their phone number. You will need to call in from the same phone number entered on the Speaker Sign Up website. If you call in from a private or blocked phone number, we will be unable to identify you.
  5. Callers will know to speak when receiving the signal that their phone has been removed from hold and or unmuted. Callers will then press *6 (Star 6) and be brought into the meeting.

Metodo de Acceder a la Reunión y a Comentario Publico

Las personas que se apunten para presentar sus comentarios a través del sitio web deberán:

  1. Llamar al 888-475-4499 (Toll Free) y pulsar el número de la Reunión al inicio de la reunión.
  2. Pulsar # y luego otra vez #, cuando se solicite la Identificación del Participante (Participant ID).
  3. Mantenerse en espera hasta que llegue su turno de hablar. Usted puede observar la reunión a través del video en vivo hasta que llegue el asunto sobre el que usted quiera comentar.
  4. Las personas que llamen por teléfono serán identificadas según su número de teléfono.  Deberá llamar desde el mismo número telefónico que haya incluido al registrarse en el sitio web.  Las personas que llamen deberán permitir que se despliegue su número telefónico. Para hacer esto, deberán ajustar la configuración de su teléfono.
  5. Las personas que llamen sabrán que ha llegado su turno de hablar al recibir la señal de que su teléfono ya no está en espera o silenciado. Entonces deberán presionar las teclas *6 (estrella 6) para entrar a la reunión.
  6. Tendrán 3 minutos para presentar sus comentarios.
